about
Seasons is a a festive-themed, Jazz tune that upon first listen could be mistaken for just another cheerful Christmas song. On the surface, Seasons is about anticipating the best Christmas that one could ever wish for.
Beneath the veil of 'yuletide cheer', however, the song conveys feelings of longing and emptiness when that special someone just isn't there. It's a sadly relatable sentiment, that adds a deeper layer of meaning to what would otherwise be just another Christmas song.
lyrics
Seasons greetings drawing near,
As tomorrow slowly steers,
For the worst in many years,
May tomorrow soon be here
Seasons greetings drawing near,
As tomorrow softly sneers,
For the worst of mocking jeers,
May your morrow be all clear
When tomorrow comes,
Cheery as I may be,
I will be alone without you near
Seasons greetings drawing near,
As tomorrow slowly steers,
For the worst in many years,
May tomorrow soon be here
Seasons greetings drawing near,
As tomorrow softly sneers,
For the worst of mocking jeers,
May your morrow be all clear
When tomorrow comes,
Cheery as I may be,
I will be alone without you near
Seasons greetings drawing near,
As the morning reappears,
Happy cheers drowned out by cheers,
May tomorrow soon be here
